Hello, our names are Cláudio Correia and Ricardo Rodriguez and we are portuguese students of 20 and 19 years old respectively. We first got to Berlin in October 2017 thanks to the Erasmus+ foreign internship program. Our experience in Berlin and with the Berlink team has been incredible so far!
We are improving ourselves a lot across all levels! The work has given us great knowledge, skills and is preparing us for our future in our respective sectors.
The city: seeing Berlin for the first time could only be described as “love at first sight” – there is such a unique presence of the city, we are really happy of being able to absorb its whole culture, it’s an amazing feeling. In many ways it’s like having an overload of emotions, at first we could feel the city coming to life during the autumn. All the different cultures, living here, combined with the colors of the season, gave us one of the best experiences in our lives. Not to mention the culture embedded on the former city walls and all around us, we are still consuming the city and it’s “vibe” daily.
It’s always a difficult time to be away from our families during the holidays, but in Berlin that was the time when we truly felt like the city is finally coming to life in a way we could embrace and make it our own “special time of the year”. It truly made us feel like we belong here. Being on our own has helped us quite a lot too, by doing so we could evolve even more our domestic skills and embrace the responsibilities, that every adult normally has.
In general this project has provided us with amazing skills and qualification, that will guide us through our whole life and help us grow as professionals and humans every single day. We are so grateful for the opportunity that was granted to us and can not be more thankfull than this.
PS: although the weather in Berlin is cold, we can say that the people aren’t as “cold” as they are stereotyped normally! 😊
