STEPS – Smooth transistion to Employability and Professional Skills & VET School from, a European project within the Erasmus program + KA2 – Strategic partnership is behind us.
The objective of STEPS was to promote entrepreneurship in the vocational schools through the development of tools and resources, and thus facilitate the transition towards the world of work in a “soft and smooth” way. The project partners have involved students and teachers and companies from Spain, Germany, the UK and Italy, presenting the advantages and opportunities offered by the European labor market, and sharing knowledge, experience and good practice.

This project was an example of synergy between business and schools, highlighting the need to a dialogue between each other, to create an important corollary to the educational preparation, to provide the required technical and professional accessories, to foster in students the assessment of their interests and their attitudes, thus facilitating future career choices.
Europe has now definitely oriented itself towards the promotion of the work-related learning as a means of fighting youth unemployment and reducing the time of the school-work transition and our school has accepted the challenge. Thanks to its tradition recognized by the reference social fabric, re-ordered in the light of reforms and labor market changes, the school is at the center of its mission: the training and education of a conscious student, a responsible citizen, someone who can build relationships and, above all, experience work and initiative as positive values
After 2 years of cooperation and working together, it’s a nice atmosphere created among the partners: here is the “live” contribution by Denitsa from Berlink, who took part in the final meeting of the project.
“On Monday I took the plane from Berlin to Bilbao, Spain and traveled by bus to Santander, where on Tuesday morning started the last international meeting of the KA2 project S.T.E.P.S. After 2 years working on the project, all partners presented the final intellectual outputs of this very ambitious project. The project coordinator – Chamber of Commerce of Cantabria – hosted this final meeting and gave a fantastic input for organizing this enjoyable 2 days in Santander. After the wrap up on Wednesday, all partners said “Goodbye”, we were a bit sad but satisfied by the hard work during the last two years and we all are looking forward to new possibilities for future collaborations. In the late afternoon on the 6th of July I hit the road to Bilbao, where I had a fantastic last evening in this beautiful city. Now, the aircraft is any second about to go to Berlin and I wish you a nice day! Hasta luego”
